What beautiful materials!
If this waste were recycled into paper and cloth, an enormous amount of industrial resources would be created.

We developed a world-first manufacturing technique of environment-friendly, chemical-free banana paper and cloth by mixing traditional Japanese papermaking art and high technology. It is easy to apply in practice, since it requires a small capital investment of 10 million yen or less. Its production efficiency is such that from 1 tonne of waste, 20 workers can produce 24,000 pieces of A4 notebook paper or wrapping paper per day. The effect of production is that producer countries can export bananas and pulp to developed nations as alternative resources to timber, while they can save on foreign currency spending on paper imports by producing paper and cloth themselves.
Textbooks and notebooks made out of banana paper can be provided to deprived children, leading to an improvement in their literacy rate. This easy paper manufacturing technique will create jobs for women and business in rural areas, which can prevent the population from flowing into urban areas.
